About Megan Annis

Professional Statement

Professional Statement:

As an occupational therapist, I work primarily with neurological conditions, such as strokes, brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries, among others. I have been proud to call St. Luke’s my home for my entire career! From a young age, I always felt a strong calling toward healthcare watching my mom in her nursing career. As a student, I had the opportunity to shadow at St. Luke’s in the therapy gym. I was immediately drawn to the collaborative, hands-on nature of the profession, getting to work closely with patients along with physical and speech therapy, and the meaningful impact it had on patients' lives, getting to work toward regaining function and independence. What I find most rewarding about this profession is the opportunity to assist individuals in achieving their personal goals—whether it’s returning to work, performing daily self-care tasks, or simply regaining a sense of normalcy and confidence after a life-altering event.  The ability to support and empower others during some of their most vulnerable moments is a responsibility I value and take seriously. Occupational therapy, especially in an outpatient neurological setting, allows me to combine my passion for helping people with the clinical skills needed to make a tangible difference in their daily lives.

Why did you become a provider?

I became an occupational therapist to help people get back to doing what is most important to them.
