Professional Statement
Professional Statement:
I am dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that prioritizes clear communication, trust, and shared decision-making. My clinical interests span adult medicine, pediatrics, and women’s health, with a focus on preventive care and the management of complex conditions through an evidence-based approach. I am motivated by the opportunity to empower patients with knowledge and to support them in achieving meaningful, long-term health and well-being.
Why did you become a provider?
I chose to become a provider because I value the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives through both science and human connection. I was drawn to a role that allows me to build long-term relationships with patients, support them through all stages of health, and help them feel heard and understood. Being able to combine clinical knowledge with compassionate care to improve outcomes and empower patients is what continues to motivate me every day.
Why did you decide to join UnityPoint Health?
I chose to join UnityPoint Health because it’s an organization I’ve been proud to be part of since I was 18 years old, and I’ve seen firsthand its commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Growing within the system has given me a deep appreciation for its team-based approach and dedication to serving the community. I’m excited to continue building my career here and to provide high-quality care within an organization whose mission and values I strongly believe in.
Describe your average patient?
My patients are typically individuals and families seeking comprehensive, accessible primary care across all stages of life. I care for adults managing chronic conditions, children in need of routine and developmental care, and women seeking preventive and reproductive health services. Many of my patients value a provider who emphasizes clear communication, preventive care, and a collaborative approach to decision-making. They are often looking for continuity in care; someone who can support them and their families over time while addressing both acute concerns and long-term health goals.
What would your patients say about you?
My patients would likely describe me as approachable, attentive, and thorough. I prioritize listening and making sure they feel heard, while taking the time to explain conditions and treatment options in a way that’s clear and understandable. Many patients refer their friends and family because they value a provider who is compassionate, responsive, and committed to building long-term relationships. They appreciate a collaborative approach to care where they feel supported, respected, and actively involved in their health decisions.
What is the most important thing for patients to know about you and your practice?
The most important thing to know about me and my practice is that I prioritize building trusting, long-term relationships with my patients through compassionate, patient-centered care. I strive to create an environment where patients feel comfortable, heard, and actively involved in their health decisions. My goal is to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care that supports each patient’s unique needs and promotes lasting health and well-being.
What is the ideal provider/patient relationship?
The ideal provider–patient relationship is built on trust, open communication, and mutual respect. Patients should feel comfortable sharing concerns and confident that they are being heard, while providers offer clear guidance, clinical expertise, and honest recommendations. It is a collaborative partnership where decisions are made together, with the patient’s values, goals, and preferences at the center. This approach fosters continuity, improves understanding, and ultimately leads to better health outcomes and a more positive care experience.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, as well as working on home improvement projects with my fiancé. I also enjoy reading, baking, and gardening, which allow me to relax and stay creative outside of work.
