Professional Statement:

I am a nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine, but have a passion for hospital medicine. I focus on providing high-quality, patient-centered care during acute illness and hospitalizations. I particularly enjoy getting to know my patients on a personal level, which helps guide holistic care. My goal is to care for each of my patients as I would my own family member.

Why did you become a provider?

I always had a passion for caring for others, which led me to become a CNA. I am a firm believer in advanced education, thus I continued with my career path all the way to the DNP level, however, I continue to help patients with things like going to the bathroom simply because I enjoy helping.

What would your patients say about you?

I've have had patients say they appreciate my effective listening skills. It really makes a difference when a patient feels heard.

What is the most important thing for patients to know about you and your medical philosophy?

I utilize shared decision making in all aspects of a patient's care as I want to make sure the patient feels informed and involved. I tend to treat slowly but surely. I feel a less aggressive approach is the safest.

What is the ideal provider/patient relationship?

One built on open and honest communication.

What do you enjoy in your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. I enjoy reading and napping, but find myself more often than not just playing at the park with my kids. I am also really into sports, including playing volleyball and watching football.
