Professional Statement
I strive to combine clear, evidence-based care with genuine compassion. I believe listening closely, communicating honestly and guiding patients through every step of their care leads to the best outcomes. Ultimately, my goal is to help people feel seen, supported and empowered in their health journey.
Why did you become a provider?
During my senior year of high school, my father had a heart attack, and we almost lost him. I remember how quickly everything changed and how uncertain that moment felt for our family. What stayed with me wasn’t just the fear of that experience, but the people who stepped in during it. The providers caring for him brought a sense of calm and direction when we needed it most. They weren’t just treating him, they were guiding all of us through a moment we didn’t understand. That experience had a lasting impact on me. It’s what first drew me toward health care and, over time, I realized I wanted to be in a role where I could have that same kind of presence and responsibility. Becoming a nurse practitioner gave me that opportunity—not just to provide care, but to support patients and their families during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives with awareness, empathy and a deeper sense of purpose in what I do.
Why did you decide to join UnityPoint Health?
I'm here because its approach aligns with how I want to practice medicine. UnityPoint Health emphasizes coordinated, patient-centered care, and I wanted to be part of a team where collaboration and continuity really matter. I felt this was a place where I could offer my best to patients while growing as a provider within a supportive, mission-driven environment.
Medical specialties or special interests:
I have a strong interest in pulmonary and critical care, especially managing complex respiratory conditions. Patients benefit from clear communication and consistent care, particularly in high-acuity or stressful situations. I focus on coordination and making sure patients don’t get lost between levels of care. That’s where I think I can make a meaningful difference.
Describe your average patient.
I typically care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, ranging from pneumonia and COPD exacerbations to long-term pulmonary disease management. What they often have in common is a need for clarity and reassurance. I focus on clear communication, timely decision-making and helping them feel more in control of their care.
What would your patients say about you?
I take the time to listen and I genuinely care about what they’re going through—not just clinically, but as people. That really comes from my own experience. When my father had a heart attack, I remember how overwhelming it felt and how important it was to have someone explain things clearly. That’s stayed with me. Because of that, I’m intentional with how I communicate, making sure patients understand what’s happening, feel heard and know what to expect. I also focus on consistency, following through and being someone they can rely on.
Most important thing to know about you.
I treat each person as more than just a patient—I see them as a whole individual, with concerns, emotions and unique needs. My practice is grounded in being present, listening deeply and making sure every step we take is clear and thoughtful. Ultimately, I want them to know they’re not navigating their health alone. I'm there with them every step of the way.
Ideal provider/patient relationship.
The ideal provider-patient relationship is built on trust, clear communication and mutual respect. When patients feel heard and understand their care, it becomes a true partnership, and that’s where you see the best outcomes.
What's most important for patients to know about medical philosophy?
At the core of my medical philosophy is treating patients as people first. I combine strong clinical decision-making with genuine empathy. Referring providers can trust I’ll manage the medical complexity, while ensuring each patient feels heard, understood and well-supported.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to travel with my husband and children.
