About Andrew Talbert
Professional Statement
Professional Statement
I believe everyone deserves access to therapy and healthcare. My goal is to help people reach their best selves and to live a full life. I have experience in working with children through play, prolonged exposure therapy for severe PTSD, experience with trauma, mood disorders such as bipolar disorder, and personality disorders; including narcissistic personality disorder, antisocial, borderline personality, and sociopathic personalities. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I'm experienced in working with DHS / HHS cases.
Why did you become a provider?
I developed a passion to help others over the course of my career. I became a therapist because I'm fascinated with the mind and human behavior and want to help others live a well life.
What should patients know about you?
I'm nonjudgmental, I use homework, and I push people to grow. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is the way we view ourselves and others impacts how we feel and what we do. I also use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is building distress tolerance so we can handle more stress effectively and in a healthy way.
Ideal provider/patient relationship:
Someone who wants to do work and grow and will communicate with me honestly.
What do you like to do in your free time?:
I enjoy spending time with my family and taking care of my physical health.
