Alexia Hadaway, DO, is board certified in both family medicine and sports medicine and specializes in caring for active individuals of all ages. Her clinical interests include sports medicine, non-operative orthopedics, ultrasound-guided injections and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), including stress fractures, disordered eating, nutritional deficiencies and menstrual dysfunction.
Dr. Hadaway completed medical school and her primary care residency locally in Des Moines before pursuing a year-long sports medicine fellowship at the University of Kentucky, where she worked closely with Division I athletes. She currently helps provide sports medicine coverage for Grand View University athletics.
Her approach to care centers on helping patients stay active and healthy through individualized, evidence-based treatment plans. Dr. Hadaway believes that movement is medicine and values a shared decision-making approach, partnering with patients to determine the best path forward for their goals, lifestyle and recovery.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hadaway enjoys spending time with her husband, children and dog. She also enjoys walking, biking, hiking and exploring new coffee shops around town.
