Professional Statement
Why did you become a physician?
I was first drawn to medicine because I love science. I knew I wanted to work directly with people and have the ability to use my hands, which led me to become a physician.
What is your medical philosophy?
My medical philosophy is: the patient comes first. Healthcare should be a team effort between the physician and the patient, with the patient in the driver’s seat. Exceptional care begins with a judgement-free environment, and I hope to create a welcoming and safe space for patients of all backgrounds and experiences.
What type of care/clinical interests are you most passionate about?
I am committed to providing compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-based care to the women of Fort Dodge and surrounding communities. I am passionate about building meaningful relationships with patients while also offering highly-specialized surgical services to help patients manage and overcome difficult diagnoses.
Why did you choose OB/GYN as your speciality?
I became an OB/GYN because I have a passion for providing comprehensive reproductive healthcare, and creating long-lasting relationships with my patients. I also was drawn to the complex medicine that can accompany both obstetrics and gynecology, as well as the procedural and surgical aspect of this career.
What qualities best describe the care you provide your patients?
Compassionate, inclusive, evidence-based, comprehensive, personal
What is the most important thing patients should know about you and your practice?
The most important thing patients should know about me is that my purpose is to listen to your story and together create a treatment plan, one that best serves you and your goals.
