Why did you become a provider? I originally became a nurse practitioner because I love science and found medicine and disease processes interesting. After a decade in health care, I continue to do this work for the opportunity to help people – especially on difficult days.

What qualities best describe the care you provide to your patients? Prior patients have described me (in after-visit surveys) as a good communicator, a good listener, professional, kind and empathetic. I have also received praise for thoroughly reviewing and explaining diagnostics and imaging studies with people during their appointments.  

Being a healthcare provider, what drives/motivates you each day? I am curious about people, and every day is an opportunity to interact with interesting people and their families. Medicine is also not static. I am always learning something new or understanding it better than I did.   

What is the most important message you would like to share with your patients? Osteoporosis, once diagnosed, is a lifelong condition that increases the risk for injuries which may threaten a person’s independence and, in some cases, even put their life at risk. The good news is a person does NOT have to be fully healed to get stronger. Working together, we will rebuild where we can.

Are there any fun facts that you would like the community to know about you? Every year, I read the number of my age in books. My travel bucket list is to visit all 30 major league baseball stadiums, and I go to about five or six every year.
